Outer Island Expeditions LLC
Beau Brandow, owner and operator of Outer Island Expeditions, resides on Orcas Island. He grew up sailing and exploring the many remote islands of the San Juans. Beau has spent much of his adult life as a steward of owned public lands. He has worked to protect and improve recreational access to public lands throughout Washington. Most of his career has been spent filling a Park Ranger position, protecting and maintaining the very parks he grew up exploring. Today Beau takes pride in providing visitors with an intimate experience amongst these remote islands and the wildlife that inhabit them. He enjoys nothing more than sharing his knowledge of the waterways, wildlife, and his favorite fishing spots with those adventurous souls who have a desire to experience the unique and rugged beauty of the San Juan archipelago.
The Tours:Outer Island Expeditions offers two types of trips that depart daily from the Willows Resort on Lummi Island.
The most popular tour is our morning whale watching tours. Coast Guard licensed Captain Nathan Brandow will meet you at the Willows Inn beach at 11:00 AM. Our custom made aluminum boat then whisks you safely and comfortably through the San Juans to the current location of the Orcas. Outer Island Expeditions is a member of the whale spotting network which tracks the location of the whales. During the journey the captain will stop at wildlife view locations, light houses, and points of historical and environmental significance. Be sure to mention any specific desires to the captain, as he will always do this best to satisfy them. You will spend up to an hour viewing and photographing the resident Orca pods. After your experience with the whales we will stop at one of the many remote island state parks for a bit of exploration and a delicious lunch. After lunch we will return you to the Willows beach where we began, at about 2:30 pm. Cost is $105 per person. A picnic lunch is available from the Taproot with advance notice.
The second tour option is our Eastsound or Friday Harbor tour. This tour allows you to spend a day at one of the other populated San Juan Islands. Explore the shops, restaurants, parks, and museums of either Eastsound on Orcas Island or of Friday Harbor on San Juan Island. Eastsound is home to the Orcas Island historical museum while Friday Harbor houses the famous Whale Museum. Both locations make for a beautiful and unique experience. Roundtrip is $40 per person to Orcas, and $50 per person to Friday Harbor.

Cancellation Policy and Deposits:
A 25% deposit is taken a time of reservation. Cancellations with full refund are allowed until seven days before scheduled tour. Rescheduling is allowed until 48 hrs before tour. Deposit is transferred to new reservation.
No shows are charged in full.
