The trail to the Inn's beach is just across the street

Walk our Roads and Beaches
A seven-mile loop provides stunning vistas of Puget Sound with Mount Baker standing sentry and reefnetters dotting the waters just offshore. The surrounding woods offer several trails, including the 1.6 mi. Baker Preserve Trail taking you to Lummi Island Ridge and offering wonderful views of the Sound and Islands. Just step outside our door and cross the road to stroll along the Inn’s (private) beach, and keep your eyes open for whales.

Guests are welcome to bring their own bikes, another great way to tour the Island.

Nettles Farm, 1/4 mile from the Inn

Nettles Farm
Our farm is just 1/4 mi. from the Inn and chef Blaine Wetzel regularly collects the ingredients that will be used to prepare dishes served later that evening. Guests can stay at our working farm, or visit with a short walk or drive up the hill. Ask for directions at the Inn.

Saturday Market, Local Farms & Island Fun

Saturday Market The Lummi Island Saturday Market begins on May 26th, Memorial Day weekend and goes through September 1st, Labor Day weekend, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Market features island produce, food, and arts & crafts vendors, plus island businesses and non-profit organizations. In addition, on Saturday, Sept. 8th, a Barter Fair will be held on the green from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

*The Saturday Market is now a member of the nationwide markets called Local Harvest.

Local Farms Scattered around the Island are local farms with produce and crafts to sell. Check at the Inn to find out what is available for visiting.

Art on the Island Lummi Island is home to many artists and artisans. The Artist's Studio Tour Open House happens three times each year: Memorial Day, Labor Day, and the second weekend in November. Of particular note are the dramatic bronze sculptures of Ann Morris and Michael Oppenheimer's wind sculptures, examples of which are seen at the Willows Inn.
